Laurie Lesley (Played with a built up boot one leg shorter through breaking it )
John (Muffin) Bond - kick like a mule
Julian Dicks - dirty bastard - but our dirty bastard
Andy Malcolm - a real hard man
Ginge Collins always puts himself on the line
Mad Dog Allen - Never new when he was beaten
Harry Blue Bottle Redknapp - sorry but he gave me much to laugh about when he was playing - open the gate!
John Moncur - Could play and foul with equal gusto!
Sammasi Abou - Almost a player but not quite

Boleyn Boy -- Re: "Jonathan Paintsil" -- I recall that they spelled his name wrong on the back of his shirt and he just left it that way.
My "cult hero" may be a goat to most of you -- Jonathan Spector. Why? Well, first, because I'm an American and always liked having an American on the team. Also, always gave full effort, threw himself in front of balls, and despite all the naysayers was selected by multiple managers for the first team time and time again. Finally, who can forget his two goals in the 4-0 rout of Man U?
My second pick would be Carlton Cole. Takes way more abuse from "fans" than he deserves. Loyal. We never should have dropped him from the team. Hard worker. Often hard to handle. Despite frequent abuse, plays his role, scores goals. Say what you will but in some dark days he was our most reliable goal scorer.

Leroy for me, there were many reasons why but the one that sticks out was a home game against Chelsea where we won 4-1 1988? He scored a hatrick then had an altercation where he laid out Steve Wicks? and didn't even wait for the red card and just walked down the tunnel.
Ma y have some claret & blue tinted specs on but that's how it seemed to go that day and he was a legend to me after that, and then the winners at Highbury confirmed it

Christian Dailly - at one of our occasional thrashings at Old Trafford, we were desperately in need of leadership, and Christian was clearly trying to rally the troops.
Of course, he's got no natural authority (something that resonates with me), and the attempt fell flat.
But at least he tried.

My very first 'cult' heroes were Billy Bonds and Bryan 'Pop' Robson.
Bonzo for generally rampaging around the pitch and Pop for scoring goals for fun, despite looking like someone who should have been in an OAP's home instead of being a first division professional footballer.
